Georgia Women of Substance

Georgia Women of Substance

The GA Women of Substance exhibit was created by members of the VAC as part of a an annual event held in Henry County to honor women. This year artists were invited to paint a portrait of a Georgia woman whom they admire. Some of the women chosen are well known, some of them are not public figures, but are known within their own community for their good deeds. All of the women included in the exhibit are unique and special and have touched the hearts of our artists, hopefully will speak to the viewer of their greatness. This exhibit will be shown at several Georgia Welcome Centers in 2005 starting at Augusta on January 11 until April 15. Current schedule includes the West Point Welcome Center, and Ringgold.

This program is supported in part by the grassroots arts program of the Georgia Council for the Arts through appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly and in partnership with Arts Clayton. The Council is a partnering state agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
